Our call and Commitment to Christ Crucified . .
Invokes in us a total dedication to follow Jesus crucified with unwavering faith and love. In the ever-present realities of people who suffer and die, shattered and abandoned, rejected and abused, wounded and killed in the world of today, "crucified" as they are by unjust ways we, Passionists, proclaim that the memory of the Passion of Christ is the remedy to the problems of pain and suffering in the world.
Our call to Passionist way of life prompts us to deepen within ourselves the passion of Christ and to be authentic witnesses to His Mission of Proclaiming the Gospel to everyone.
Passionists take a special vow, a solemn promise, to spend our energies in promoting remembrance of the sufferings of Jesus. This vow defines the identity of the Passionists, as religious who pledge to keep alive deep in our hearts the memory of the cross and to do what is in our power to remind others of it. Because it is through His Death that we have been given life. |

Our call invites us to side with the poor and the needy, the oppressed and rejected, silences us to give ear to the voice of the voiceless, the cries of the suffering. We promise solidarity with those forgotten and exploited in the society We mark our hearts with the “sign” of the cross, challenging the world for its injustice and neglect, bearing the cross today: the disabled, the sick, the dying, the grieving, those isolated and alone -- all who bear the burden of pain.
The special sign we wear on our habit is meant to symbolize a solemn commitment to proclaim God's great love made known through the cross of Jesus. We nourish that memory in our hearts through prayer. We share that good news with all in the world. We proclaim it through preaching, in our parishes and retreat centers, through our presence in hospitals, classrooms, campuses, missions and those ministries of service to the humanity.
